SURGERY OF THE FUTURE
Stay at the forefront of knowledge and techniques in AI-Assisted Surgery
We are a non-profit initiative dedicated to shaping how artificial intelligence is integrated into surgical practice. Our mission is to assist surgeons. By ensuring AI adoption is trustworthy and grounded in professional standards, we can bring forward its seamless integration with surgeons to optimise performance and enhance surgery.

Future-Proofing Practice
ABOUT US
Our purpose is not commercial, but educational and protective: to support surgeons, safeguard patients, and future-proof the profession as technology evolves.
We believe AI should strengthen surgical judgement, not replace it. By protecting patients, assisting surgeons, and embedding equity and responsibility into every stage of adoption, we create space for thoughtful, future-proof integration of AI into surgical practice.
OUR VISION
Reflect. Understand. Enhance.
The future of surgery will not be defined by substitution. AI has the potential to assist surgeons, safeguard patients, and expand innovation—but only if it is introduced with care. Our vision is to ensure that AI integration is safe, equitable, and worthy of the trust patients place in surgeons. By embedding professionalism, cultural responsibility, and rigorous reflection into every stage, we aim to build confidence in a future where technology enhances surgical practice without compromising its values.

WHAT WE DO
As a non-profit initiative, all activities are reinvested into education, research, and open resources for the surgical community. Our work is designed to accelerate understanding and adoption while keeping the profession in control of the process.
We provide education and training through workshops, open modules, and resources that prepare surgeons for safe interaction with AI. We contribute to standards and advocacy, producing ethical frameworks and policy briefings to guide institutions. We engage in research collaborations, partnering across universities, healthcare, and industry to test and validate practical applications. And we promote community engagement, convening forums and roundtables where surgeons can share insights and shape the future together.
PILOT PROJECTS
We are developing proof of concept projects that model how AI can be integrated into practice and test the utility of this application.
Each project is designed to be achievable and clinically relevant in an area of surgery that is emerging or continuing to gather momentum in modern medical practice, serving as exemplars of how AI can add value without compromising modern standards
Why Pilot Projects Matter
Each of these initiatives is designed as a proof of principle: modest in scope, transparent in methodology, and open for professional critique. They demonstrate that AI in surgery can be introduced responsibly, with surgeons leading the conversation and patients remaining at the centre of care.
INSIGHTS
We share knowledge products that are designed to guide the profession and support thoughtful adoption of AI
To guide safe adoption, we share knowledge outputs that are authoritative, practical, and designed for use by the surgical community. Our white papers provide structured analyses of adoption strategies and risk frameworks. Policy briefings deliver concise recommendations for surgical organisations and health systems. Research commentaries interpret new developments and assess their implications for surgical practice. Thought articles broaden the conversation, encouraging surgeons to reflect on the future of their profession in an AI-enabled world.
